More cold weather forced me inside for the majority of my runs in February. I did get caught up on some good shows on Netflix. Check out Peaky Blinders next time you need a show to binge-watch. The visuals and soundtrack were truly immersive. Back to running – In February, I got two nice long runs in. One was 19 miles, the other 18. Mixed in some tempo work and recovery runs along the way. I battled some foot pain, but I have that under control now (see article about my injury) and feel strong moving into March.

If you are anything like me, you have decided to run to lose a few pounds and as soon as you can get outside to run, you are going as fast and as hard as you can. You want results now. Dealing with Pain. The Sore Spot May Not Be The Source.

Recently, I have been having some pain in the bottom of my right foot, in front of my heel. Or as my coach would call it, a “niggle”. After some research online, I self-diagnosed my niggle as plantar fasciitis. Don’t you love the internet? Look at me, I’m a doctor! Erring on the side of caution, I emailed my friends Dr. Doepper and Dr. Sanders at Capital Rehab of Winchester.
