Back in March, when I was in Virginia Beach for the Shamrock Marathon, my family and I swung by the running expo to pick up my race packet and check out the vendor tables. I had my eye on some Pure Connects at the Brooks booth, so my wife inquired about kid shoes since Connor was in need of a new pair.

When they pulled out a bright highlighter-green pair of Pure Flows in his size, I knew it was a done deal. You know kids. It’s flashy – they “need it”. Connor test fit them by jogging up the aisles dodging other shoppers. Sold. The workers at the Brooks booth were very knowledgeable and helpful. Connor and I both left happy with some sweet new shoes.

Fast forward to July and the Pure Flows are still going strong. Connor ran the Liberty Kids Mile on the 4th and finished 3rd for his age group (7-8 year olds). He runs up on his forefoot with good form for his age and he says the shoes are comfortable. The shoes show a little wear but that is expected for an active 7 year old that wears them for school and running.

The quality of the Brooks Pure Flow for kids is excellent and from my own personal experience with running in Brooks shoes, I would not hesitate to put Connor in another pair when he outgrows these.

UPDATE 8/11/13: We purchased Connor his second pair of Pure Connects.
